PAST CASE COMP 2022-2023
The Service Design Case Competition at University of Toronto brings top students annually to understand and propose solutions to a complex challenge. This is a unique event that allows students to learn about design frameworks through workshops and put them into practice in a collaborative environment where they are supported by academics, professionals, and consultants from the fields of business and human centered design.
This year, three clubs have joined forces, Healthcare Management Association (HMA), Business Design Club (BDC), and Access to Success (A2S). We hope to understand and explore the topic of access to health and social services for those at risk or experiencing homelessness in Toronto.
Problem Statement
People experiencing homelessness have more frequent hospitalization and emergency department visits and are easily lost in transition after they are discharged from a psychiatric or medical hospital and then travel to a homeless shelter or other community agency.
In a resource constrained environment, there is not always a clear connection between health professionals and shelter/community agency staff.
We are fortunate to be partnering with CAMH and MAP on this prestigious case competition.
